Get Ready for a Book Writing Master Class!
Whether you’re an experienced writer or a novice, Rally Book Year provides you with the community support and practical help you need to write the book you’ve been wanting to write.
The year will begin with a reflective process, where you’ll work with Dr. Fitton to concisely describe your vision for your project and set goals for how to get there. Over the course of the year, you will meet monthly with your cohort for camaraderie and accountability, lessons in craft, and writing exercises that will jump-start your work. At the end of the year, you will receive a detailed 100-page manuscript review from Kevin with comments and suggestions and a letter reflecting on your work.
Dr. Fitton holds an MFA from Bennington College and a PhD in Creative Writing from Western Michigan University. He has published a dozen short stories in nationally recognized literary magazines, a book of stories (Auras 2022), and a children’s picture book (Higher Ground 2012) with Caldecott-winning artist, Mary Azarian. He lives in Grand Ledge, Michigan and teaches writing at Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan.
